RJD announces 22 candidates for Lok Sabha polls including Lalu Prasad's daughters; gangster-turned-politician Munna Shukla to contest from Vaishali seat.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has announced its list of 22 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, including Rohini Acharya and Misa Bharti from Saran and Pataliputra Lok Sabha seats. Acharya began her campaign with a road show, facing sitting BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Bharti will face her father's former aide Ram Kirpal Yadav from the Pataliputra seat, who joined the BJP in 2014. The RJD has also fielded Vijay Kumar Shukla, also known as Munna Shukla, from Vaishali, who recently faced controversy over casteist remarks after meeting RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav to seek the party symbol. Shukla apologized for her actions, stating that she has deep regard for the Ravidas community and never intended to insult anyone.
